Alexandru Borza Botanical Garden, Cluj-Napoca

4.4
#1 of 60 in Parks in Transylvania
At Alexandru Borza Botanical Garden, see the Amazonian water lilies--a lotus with gigantic leaves and white flowers--which turn pink as they mature. The garden supports three greenhouses with topical and sub-tropical species, a herbarium with over 635,000 plants, a museum, and an institute. In the Roman garden, look for archaeological ruins from the Roman colony of Napoca, including the statue of Ceres--the goddess of grain and bread. The Japanese garden, intersected by a brook, features a Japanese-style house. To visit Alexandru Borza Botanical Garden on your trip to Cluj-Napoca, use our Cluj-Napoca trip builder website .

  • The Botanical Garden in Clujnapocka is nice clean and definitely worth a visit. There are several greenhouses with tropical plants and a Japanese garden. There are many varieties of roses to see. Entry for a small fee. The Park is out of town a short walk up the Hill

  • I love it at the beginning of may when there is the tulip exposition. But otherwise I consider that there are some things that should be improved. The gardens needs more signs indicating where the path goes, what plants are there, more information all over the place. Also, maybe more interaction with visitors. Like a sector where you can smell diffrent flowers or medicinal plants. A sector where you can actually plant some vegetables or flowers.
  • Great, great place! Hundreds (probably thousands though) of different plants, all in a place that makes you feel more like in the middle of a forest or natural reserve, than the center of Romania's second largest city. Not to be missed if you're visiting or even passing through
  • Love it! It's a quite park , in the centre of the city, with different kind of species and an extraordinary variety of geographical areas. You should go with your kids or your loved ones! !!
  • Nice average size botanical garden. Has a few small greenhouses with tropical and Mediterranean species. Good tulip line-up. Some parts of the garden are in desperate need of intervention.
  • A great way to spend time.Relaxing and walking in a great park is just a few of your options around here.
