  • It is an interesting experience, first of all is a little bit different from other salt mines, maybe because of the stairs or because it is still active. Maybe because of the smell. If you are in the ...  more »
  • Located in an Esplanade, its outward appearance is not too attractive. We can park outside, next to a splendid church of Polish Catholic rite, or cross the entrance gate and Park in the inner enclosure. The parking is free. The day we went there were enough people and the entrance was a little busy; There is no box office; a person is placed in the front door, we pay 10 lei per adult and 5 lei per child and directly access stairs that lead us to the inside of the mine. The opening hours are from 9 am to 5 pm. Inside, while it is fresh, there is much sense of embarrassment, a strong smell to salt and chemicals, and as attractions there is a Salt Lake, a Catholic Chapel, another Orthodox, galleries, a curious staircase completely invaded by salt, a dance hall and a sports area which even boasts a football field. The visit does more hora-hora and a half, and the output can purchase various products derived from the salt. Outside there are several stalls that sell food, drink and souvenirs. No miss the excellent homemade black beer sold in one of them.

  • In itself, the salt mine would be worth seeing, but the pleasure is been disrupted considerably by the fumes. We are back out after a short time, especially since we had small children doing.
