Where to stay in Bucharest

To take advantage of Bucharest's lively downtown, look for accommodations in the areas of Universitatii square, Unirii, Romana, or Victoriei to be closest to bars, clubs, and restaurants, as well as many of the major sights. Choose from a variety of hostels and budget hotels, or book a night at one of the mid-range or luxury hotels. If you decide to venture farther out of the city, look for lodging close to public transportation to avoid the city's notoriously bad traffic.

  • Complaining/whiney waiter, messed up orders, overpriced food compared to nearby food court. Don't recommend.
  • Nice place to play billard or go for bowling. Especially for company events. Otherwise it may be too expensive. Restaurant part is quite strange. They have some great positions in menu - steaks, ice teas, and some tragic ones - like burgers or sea food. Service is usually kind but too rushy.
  • Lunch menu is very diverse and fairly priced.
  • Mediterranean salad is quite good. Always super noisy, the music is too damn loud, probably to cover the noise from the bowling area and the staff might be slower when is crowded.
  • Nice place, but unfortunately they allow el-cigarets indoors!
