Where to stay in Bucharest

To take advantage of Bucharest's lively downtown, look for accommodations in the areas of Universitatii square, Unirii, Romana, or Victoriei to be closest to bars, clubs, and restaurants, as well as many of the major sights. Choose from a variety of hostels and budget hotels, or book a night at one of the mid-range or luxury hotels. If you decide to venture farther out of the city, look for lodging close to public transportation to avoid the city's notoriously bad traffic.

  • A silent oasis in the center of Bucharest! Unbelievable! It's a must see, no doubt!
  • Lovely place on a quiet hill. It does not seem to be in Bucharest!
  • Mid-1600 century monastery, one of the first built in Bucharest (second, actually)
  • Saint Ephraim is such a great friend, not only a Saint of God
  • This place statisfies the need for arhitecture, art, music, nature, peace and religion. If you find yourself in the oldtown area you can try it out taking a stroll on the sidewalk of the Dâmbovița River to get there.
