Inspirock Rating:
4.7/5 based on 1,600+ reviews on the web
Walk, cycle, jog, take a boat ride on the lake, or just sit in one of the quiet, shady corners of Herastrau Park. The park was laid out in the 1930s on the lakeshore, which had been the favorite promenade for the city's rich since the late 19th century. Today you'll find numerous attractions, including an open-air village museum, a royal palace, an old-fashioned fairground, an aquarium, a summer theater, and many small pavilions hosting art exhibits. Walk its alleyways lined with roses, old trees, water fountains, and benches. As you walk, notice the park's many sculptures representing statesmen, artists, poets, and fictional characters, such as Prince Charming. Explore summer terraces on the lakeshore, visit the tennis courts, rent a bike, or stop for a bite to eat. The park also features a memorial to Michael Jackson. Make Herastrau Park a centerpiece of your Bucharest vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Bucharest trip itinerary builder.

  • Very nice place for a stroll and photo! The Lake, the Museum (paid, not visited), but free open-air museum with ancient village buildings, a lot of Greens, bridges, swans!

  • Beautiful and nice Park in downtown Bucharest. taking advantage of a sunny day you can spend a lot of time walking trails along the lake or a drink at one of the many clubs. We were overwhelmed by how large and beautiful colors of nature ... I recommend it for relaxation, run or for a walk

  • Incredible gem within Sector 1 of the city. Plenty to do safe running track, plenty of local vendors to choose from.
