Cismigiu Gardens, Bucharest
(4.4/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web)
Follow the meandering alleys of Cismigiu Gardens along the shores of an artificial lake adorned with statues, memorials, and the capital's first newspaper stand. Designed in the mid-19th century, the garden showcases trees brought in from the Romanian mountains, as well as exotic plants from the Viennese botanical gardens. The highlights of the gardens include the "Romanian round," featuring busts of important Romanian writers, and two war memorials dedicated to French and American soldiers. The marble monument of French heroes depicts a grieving mother pouring water from a pitcher. The garden is also home to cafes, refreshment kiosks, summer terraces, children's playgrounds, and a restored 1920s restaurant. • Lovely park even in mid winter. It snowed when we were there which made it look lovely. There was also a small Christmas Market. Great way to spend a little time away from the hustle and bustle of Buc...  more »
  • I did a quick tour on a cold day in December. The park after which my hotel was named, is a great resource for Bucharest. Folks were out skating in a large outdoor artificial rink.
  • I propose that the artwork is amazing best summer why ego who visited winter instead of a artificial lake eida rink. Of course the location was it because it was Christmas had put stalls k poylagan traditional dishes Mrs. sweet that was delicious

  • It's a very nice park. You can take a rowing boat on the lake. Great variety of amenities for kids. But unfortunately they are not being kept clean enough. Would like to see the city do more to keep it clean from bird droppings currently covering all the area.
  • very very dirty at times.Crows and pigeons litter the place intensively to the extent that the alleys look painted white (the color of bird dung) and sometimes the smell is atrocious.Too bad,I guess now we can all sing "I'm only happy when it rains" as it seems bird activity is discouraged by bad weather....
  • Nice park in the centre of Bucharest. Cool place to hang around during the day
  • A very beautiful park with a nice lake right in the center - you can rent peddle boats, or just stroll in the park, or play with you kids in the dedicated playgrounds spread across the park, or enjoy a game of chess with the locals, while you snack on some food sold in the park .. it's also good for an outdoor workout - you can definitely TRX there - just tie it to a tree and start working out. I gave it a 4 and not a 5 because the public bathroom reek (but only in close proximity)
  • I like a lot this park and every time I am in Bucharest, I go visit it. You can rent a little rowing boat or a pedal boat, sit on bench eating an ice cream or simply take a walk under the trees. In addition, there are some nice places for kids to play. The only thing I do not like about this place is the birds excrements that seem to be quite everywhere.
