Originally built in the 14th century, Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle) draws visitors because of its association with the bloodthirsty 15th-century Romanian ruler, Vlad the Impaler. The castle served as a fortress guarding the mountain pass and was advertised as the home of the ruler--also known as Dracul (the devil), who inspired the legend of Dracula. Perched on a rock above the river, the site offers panoramic views of the mountains. Today, its interiors feature art and furniture that belonged to the last Romanian Queen, Marie. Different rooms house some historical writings and the royal family tree. Check out an open-air museum in the park at the bottom of the hill with traditional Romanian peasant cottages and barns. • I like the place! but of course, you should know where are you going to! Place looks better from far and a full house inside! Its a small space inside so you have to watch out! You can learn a lot.....  more »

  • What an amazing day out! The castle is absolutely beautiful with lots of useful information throughout. Entry is very reasonably priced (£20 for three of us) and there's a great range of Dracula-based gifts on sale. One of the best castles I've been to. A nice coffee shop and cafe on site with adorable resident cats. If you love the book Dracula, this is such an interesting place to visit!
  • Not big enough although it was interesting. Nice place, nice view. There many areas that you are not allowed to get inside but it has very interesting decoration. Good value for the visit. I enjoyed the kiosks around it too much, Very interesting food! And the prices are not very bad. It was a little cheaper from the center of bucharest even though is a tourist place. I recommend it 💓
  • Recommended. Anyone must to go and visit the castle at least once.Full of history with interesting historical objects to be seen and hidden chambers .It is recommended for families with children and for all ages. I have been surprised about the all the things I have seen.I have a only suggestion to make and is regarding a guide.A guide to walk with the tourists and explain them what exactly happened with the castel and its history as when I have been was no guides available. Other than that I fully recommend a visit.
  • This was a cool spot but I would not make the 5 hour drive from Bucharest again. We knew this going on but don’t be disappointed when you find out vampires really had nothing to do with this castle but it is kind of funny to see the street vendors selling cheesy vampire souvenirs... I picked up a magnet!
  • I had a blast! While in Brasov a friend of mine suggested I check out Bram Castle and it was well worth the visit. I can't speak for the summer season but during the time that I went, it was still quite busy but not too over cluttered. You can take as much time as you want to visit the castle, plenty of interesting history and architectural feats to see. I took a package that allows you to take an elevator to the basement, that wasn't really worth it but the experience alone and atmosphere of the castle was enough for me. Great photos to be taken as well.
