  • Roman base - Yes, and you can visit this outside as well as in a museum. But the Austrian fortifications are the Beeindruckenste. Almost a prototype for architects with redoubts, bastions, redoubts, bezels, etc. (hint: see the model at the coronation church and take the plan at the "Club 13".) At this time had also military course in the walls, the precise course of which were known to only a few strongholds: in the old "Karl Castle" you can commit them free. And even the changing of the guard can be seen at noon. All in all is a gem for fortress fanatics these seven, one fortress. But also the numerous figures, the monuments and museums or just a walk worth a visit. An ice rink and a small Christmas market happen around Christmas.
