Skopje ZOO, Skopje
(2.8/5 based on 65 reviews on the web)
Skopje ZOO has been a subject of much controversy and criticism over the years for the poor treatment of the animals. When the zoo was opened in 1926 it showed only a few animals; today, it is home to nearly 500 creatures. Although the institution is making an effort to improve the living conditions of its inhabitants, animal protection organizations as well as many visitors have reported seeing depressed animals in small, dirty cages. The zoo caters to younger visitors with inexpensive tickets and various offers ranging from pony rides to birthday celebrations. Don't miss the Balkan lynx, a subspecies of the Eurasian lynx and Macedonian national symbol. For Skopje ZOO and beyond, use our Skopje itinerary maker to get the most from your Skopje vacation.

  • Great clean Zoo. Very well-maintained animals. My child really liked all cats. Not looking for the month of October, the animals don't look hungry and neglect. Tickets cost about a dollar. Just no money. Keep their children need. And they will be happy and you will get a unique pleasure
