Learn about the movements and conflicts that helped to shape modern Macedonia at Museum of Macedonian Struggle, documenting the country's long road to independence. Opened in 2011, the museum presents a timeline of Macedonian resistance to foreign rule from its conquest by the Ottomans in the 14th century to its split from Yugoslavia. Wander the exhibitions covering different leadership figures, historic events, and the beginnings of famous resistance organizations, including the famous Haiduk rebels of the 17th century. • The building is new, as the Maacedone Republic, moreover: to build it took 3 years, from 2008, and was opened in 2011. The exhibition includes 13 rises and covers the period from the end of the domination of the Ottoman Empire until 1991, when Macedonia declared independence from Yugoslavia. And this fundamental document for the nation is right in the last room. Interesting, clean and well equipped. We should make a note for some of our museums, sometimes abandoned ....

  • Macedonia has an interesting history, it feels incredibly slighted and sees enemies and opponents in many places. This is what I got from this musuem.

  • Interesting experience; I loved the fact that you actually have a guide that talks to you through the struggle. There are a lot of wax figures representing important people that marked the Macedonian uprising. Not to be confused with the Museum of Macedonia, which is located after the Old Bazar, next to the Mosque.
  • It's empty it's not a museum. Macedonia it's Greek come to Vergina and Pella to see the real Macedonia.
  • Must see museium...get to know the macedonian struggle thre the years.
  • This newly built museum with wax figures presents the history of Macedonian people and their struggle through difficult times.
  • They have private tours for everyone that buys a ticket, and the guy didn't stop talking, explained every single thing. Thumbs up!
