Millennium Cross, Skopje
Categories: Monuments, Tourist Spots
Set imposingly atop the capital city's Mount Vodno, Millennium Cross pays tribute to Macedonia's long history of Christianity. Standing 66 m (217 ft) high, the metal cross ranks among the largest on the planet. Make your way up the mountain via a bus from Skopje's main station or your own two feet, but be aware that the hike is a very long and strenuous one. Once you've reached the parking lot, hop aboard the cable car for the last stretch up to the cross itself, taking in the sweeping views of Skopje and the mountains as you go. Take a look at our Skopje family vacation planner to schedule your visit to Millennium Cross and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.
