4.7/5 based on 45 reviews on the web
Known for its two glacial lakes called Pelister's Eyes, National Park Pelister offers many opportunities for hiking, skiing, wildlife viewing and birdwatching. The alpine landscapes of pine forests, sparkling springs, and apple orchards shelter wildlife like bears, wolves, deer, wild boars, rabbits, and eagles. Take one of the historical hiking trails dating from World War I, and walk over reconstructed bridges and along trenches with cannon positions. On the edge of the park is an "eco" village that preserves traditional way of life and an intimate relationship with nature. Locals recommend hiking with a mountain guide if unfamiliar with the area. • We visited this place by accident as we followed google maps in trying to get us to Ohrid from Bitola. Amazing place with helpful visitors centre. Plenty of hikes
  • We drove to the Park Pelišter purposefully in order to reach the top of mountain lake. Went for a very long time but there were rewards stunning and unspoilt nature.

  • Pelister National Park is a place of beautiful and interesting tourist itineraries. Lots of raspberry, bilberry grows in the mountains. The largest lake is a very nice view from the top. Hizha Golyamo Lake is located on the shore of this Lake. Hike is not easy, but all offset by views of mountains and valleys. Pedestrian route was two days. It is important to have good weather, as places to go has the stones.

  • PELISTER is the oldest National Park in Republic of Macedonia and is filled with exquisite flora and fauna. Among flora elements, the presence of the FIVE-needle PINE MOLICA is especially significant. Pinus peuce is a unique species of tertiary age being present on only a few mountains inthe Balkan Peninsula. Characteristic fact for this molika tree is that it can live approx 200-300 years. Pelister is also known for its two mountain lakes, which are called Pelister‘s Eyes.
