  • Has some amazing collections of temporary and permanent exhibits. A bit out of the way and the inhouse cafe is in need of some boosting of menu but the collections are interesting enough (if you are a...  more »
  • Interesting! I saw Al-Azzawi retrospective: great artist, really. The mission and focus of the Museum is on the local artist and art. I think Al-Azzawi is the best artist presented in the Museum. My v...  more »
  • beautiful space, attended a great extensive exhibition for an artist called Dia Azzawi. The curation is nice and tasteful as well as the building itself. Cafe is sad, and please don't order coffee.

  • As prommised the shuttle leaving exactly on the hour, I got dropped off in the middle of nowhere, the area was still heavily under construction. Creating a knowledge area with companies as Texas Instruments and a branch of Georgetown University. However the museum was the opposite of the expectation it raised; yes, the museum was modern, and had two nice piece‚Äôs but that was it. On the first floor there were some paintings form 5 different artists but not really related to Islamic art in my opinion. In other words not worth driving to for an hour.
  • Need to have an appointment before going
  • The best museum in Doha. Wished all the constructions were gone so more people could visit it.
  • The Mathaf is a fantastic museum, with innovative exhibitions, excellent research and education programs and facilities, expert and welcoming staff, and a dynamic approach to the role of artists and art in our society. I highly recommend anyone visiting the region to go to the Mathaf and see it for yourself.
  • Far away, whole area under construction so you is more than likely to be lost. In museum itself as of September 2014 there are only 3 pieces of art and gift shop. Not worth until it is properly operating museum !!!!
