Katara Mosque, Doha

(4.5/5 based on 75+ reviews on the web)
Admire the elegant Arabic design of Katara Mosque. The mosque's design was inspired by several other mosques from all over the world. See the traditional tile artwork as you explore the site. Turquoise and purple mosaics adorn the outside, and you will find many ornaments and inscriptions inside the mosque. Be quiet and respectful; you'll see people praying as you soak in the peaceful spiritual atmosphere. Katara Mosque is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Doha Edition.

  • Among the many works, some questionable, the Arab village of Katara, the mosque is noted for its external magnificence, all finished by Golden mosaics that make it look very precious. The Interior cannot be visited because you don't the jury meetings.

  • Non-Muslims are welcome to enter, without footwear, and even take photographs. It is well worth the trouble of taking your shoes off to see the beautiful interior.  more »
  • the meaning of civility and hospitality, is also going to visit this mosque ... women have a separate entrance from the men, and we provide, (then you) their black dress and big handkerchief to put into your head ... the guides, in my case women, we accompany and explain all that is inherent in this moment, very important ... I visited the mosque in Casablanca , which is nice for location, but this has a special charm ... are you there, speak and ask questions but you feel at ease and serene

  • Too posh..not a good place for praying
  • great
  • Beautiful inside and out
  • In general, the visit is worthwhile. From the outside entrance, with the torres-palomares, the walk is mostly in the shade (the corridors are protected). The amphitheatre is spectacular. If you are travelling with Qatar Airways, and do stop in Doha during a few hours, you can take advantage of the free tour organized and visiting, among other places of the city, the Katara Center.
