Listen to a live poem recital while sipping on freshly roasted coffee at The Poet's Passage. The cafe serves as an artistic hub for locals to meet, chat and perform. The exterior features a colonial façade painted bright red with white trim. Inside, colorful art and poetry decorate the walls with local artisan crafts displayed and sold. Grab a flavoured latte, also known as a Rhyme, with a delicious tofu or hummus wrap. The cafe encourages you to write your own poetry on the tables as you dine and take in the atmosphere. • As we strolled through Old San Juan, we stopped to grab a cup of coffee w/ the beau - it was the only local coffee shop open past 8PM. Couldn't drink the whole cup, though. The brew was extremely hot ...  more »
  • I saw the great reviews of this shop, and I was hoping to find some good quality mementos of San Juan. It turns out it's just a gallery dedicated to prints in varying sizes of quotes, some of which ar...  more »

  • This is officially the most amazing place in San Juan, what a pleasant experience, not only is The Poet's Passage a great place for coffee/tea, but it is a wonderful creative atmosphere that is a haven for writer/artist types. The owner, Lady is such a warm and special person, it is rare that you ever find a business owner that really makes you feel so welcome. The Poet's Passage is such a breath of fresh air and a must visit for tourists visiting San Juan. Beautifully decorated and adorned with Lady's unique poetry, The Poet's Passage was the most unique experience I could have hoped for while visiting Puerto Rico. I even attended a poetry reading which I was invited to personally by Lady, it was so incredibly memorable.
  • This place is the best place to get inspirited. To feel relaxed and let the all around Muse inspire you through this wonderful place were everyone is friendly and welcoming and make you feel like you have another kind of family. I've been going for moths now especially on Tuesdays nights for the open mic were you can tell your story. And the food and coffee are just great and don't even get me started on the desserts! The passage is always in my heart :)
  • Walking around old San Juan, we happened to stop here, and I'm so glad that we did! There's really good coffee, snack options, poetry on the wall and cozy, yet interesting decor. It's just the perfect place for an afternoon break on a summer day.
  • Great coffee and good selection of food and desserts
  • Great place to get online, drink awesome coffee, and get out of the heat, a/c is nice and cool.
