The Cigar House, San Juan

(3.9/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
Home to Puerto Rico’s legendary hand-rolled cigars, The Cigar House's wood-panelled store has the largest selection in the Caribbean, with over 300 varieties available. Try a rum-soaked cigar or aged leaves for something truly different. Beginners are ably assisted by the knowledgeable staff; many visitors come here to buy a thoughtful and luxurious gift for someone back home. But don't ask about Cuban cigars--they are not stocked here as a matter of national pride. Sample some smokes in the ornate smoking room, complete with opulent leather chairs. You can also find watches, pipes, pens, and other items here. • This place is truly amazing exclamation point the cigar selection is unrivaled, the staff is very helpful , and Rita the owner reminds me of my grandma
  • Terrible owner. After spending $900.00 on cigar boxers (Premium) and treated me like comming from heaven because of the purchase, when I came home, one box of cigar was un-smokeable, very tight draw. I called the store owner to explain and using insulting words, told me once cigars leave the store, there's no return or exchange. What!? Not even with receipt! Mind you, they do have excellent seletion there but, if you buy individual cigars, make sure either you or them cut them. If you buy boxes, you're on your own. I worked at a major cigar retailer in Fl and we never turned anyone for this; either gave them credit, exchange or return of money. We never argued with customers. I was born and grew up here (PR) and I can tell you right now is that in PR most customer services are terrible. It's their nature and is no wonder Dominican Republic is ousting PR on tourism. And keep an eye in Cuba for a tourism renaissance.
  • Great selection including gear as well as craft beer and excellent spirits. Comfortable atmosphere.
  • Very good selection of cigars and good atmosphere, suitable for smoking. It is not elegant. Ashtrays are filled with frequently and not is very clean. If this does not bother you, as to me, this is the place to smoke. Prices are better than in most of the places in PR.
