  • I'm from New York and I was vacationing in Puerto Rico with my parents. As a spicy food enthusiast, I just had to stop here and look around. They let you sample different spices, and the staff was very friendly! They also had a few herbs and Puerto Rican coffee as well! The woman was so kind to my mom, because my mom was experiencing a little bit of vertigo, so the woman gave her a ginger gummy and I couldn't thank her enough on how polite she was being! She was so good to all of us! They can also ship products from their website which is awesome, so I can now continue shopping with them, even if I'm not in Puerto Rico!
  • Poloma was very nice she stayed open for my family and me with her store closing 10 minutes before we came in. When you go take plenty of money with you because you will want to buy alot.
  • Awesome shop for jams, jellies, and hot sauces of all types. Extremely helpful owner. Very knowledgeable about the area.
  • Good stuff here! They have TSA friendly packs of hot sauce so you can bring some home. Their jam is great too. They have lots to sample. The woman running the store pointed me in the direction of a great spot to eat, so be sure to chat her up.

Where to stay in San Juan

If you're looking for colonial-era lodgings, explore the streets of the old town area, where many grand buildings house guesthouses and hotels. The neighborhoods of Condado, Ocean Park, and Isla Verde contain the majority of beach resorts, with some glamorous and upscale options sitting alongside more laid-back and family-friendly ones. Rental bungalows just back from the beach, as well as side-street hostels, provide the city's budget-friendly places to stay.
