  • I found a hotel with valet parking in the San Juan Historic area. After checking in the hotel, I was able to easily walk to El Morro using google maps on my phone. The streets are narrow with hills...  more »
  • Took the audio tour and it was very helpful. Remember your sun screen, hat and sunglasses. A lot of walking and uneven steps, wear good walking shoes. Great history lesson.  more »
  • Super cool to see a must when in old San Juan easy to walk to. It took us most of the day to see it all  more »

  • Impressive. Take the time to walk around and explore the property. There are tons of hidden passageways and tunnels to see. Too much history to put in a Google review... just check it out! There is a $7 entrance fee for adults (each) and kids are free. This ticket can also be used at the San Cristobal Castle across the bay for up to 48 hours. Both are spectacular. Old San Juan is beautiful with these structures being at the forefront of it's history. The walls will continue to stand for centuries to come.
  • Very well taken care of historical site. Large grounds for some great walking. Beautiful old cemetery at one end. There is a boardwalk path along the ocean side down the stairs. Quite and serene.
  • Absolutely beautiful! We took a self guided tour of this historical site while on a cruise. So glad we did. It was amazing and we got so many great pictures. It's such a big fort we didn't even see the whole thing after being their an entire day. Would definitely like to come back again the next time we're in Puerto Rico. There is a small fee to gain access to the major portion of the fort but it's so worth it!
  • The history behind this place is nothing short of fascinating. It is a great place to go with family -especially kids - because of this historic background. You can walk through the Castillo and just reading the signs out loud will give you and your family a pretty good idea of all that has happened here, going back to over 500 years ago. Entry fee to the castle is $7.00 for adults, and free for kids under $15. The views are incredible and they alone make the price of admission worth it. If you are ever in San Juan, this is a place you should visit.
  • This is one of the most well-known and most visited locations within old San Juan. It is a fascinating tour, if you are willing to pay the money and go inside. You certainly need to do that once in your life. It's not too much money. and if you keep your receipt, you receive free admission at the fort on the other side of old San Juan just a mile away. This area is gorgeous during sunset, and children have a lot of fun playing on the expansive lawn. It is nice to walk down the hill and view the cemetery just over the rock wall.
