Plaza las Americas, San Juan

4.3
The largest shopping mall in the Caribbean, Plaza las Americas boasts nearly 300 stores, from the anchor stores of major brands such as Macy's and Sears to specialty stores of local artisans. Decorated with fountains and sculptures, this site becomes the venue of large farmers market and local artisan fair every weekend. Look for homemade treats and handcrafted goods from the island on the third floor. Plaza features more than 40 restaurants and eateries, a video arcade, and a movie theater with the latest releases (most run in English with Spanish subtitles). • Get ready to walk and find everything for all tastes. There are fun in the cinemas, restaurants for all tastes. A rich coffee in the second floor, fast food or restaurants. See all stores will take more than 6 hours.

  • The mall is located about 15 minutes drive south west the main tourist areas of Old San Juan and Condado. The shops are mid range, and exactly what you would expect from a nice mall. The worst part is...  more »
  • Good range of shops and entertainment. We ate at The Cheesecake Factory which was also good. Tended to get busy later in the day so go earlier to avoid crowds.  more »

  • Plazas Las America's is doing a great job of trying to maintain some organization of traffic inside there parking area. But getting in there right now 12.09.2017 is a ridiculous effort of navigating selfish, absurd, terrible drivers. Getting out of there was a nightmare made worse by impatient drivers who pushed their way into the intersection only to create the same problem that frustrated them in the first place. The mall can not direct traffic there of course and once inside they do a great job of maintaining civility on the roads. Chances are you will want to go to the parking deck to find a space. I do not plan on visiting during peak hours ever again. But great job by plazas Las America's for doing their part.
  • Parking is always war. But once inside you enjoy many things from small to big stores, to movies, to eating. Great big mall. Be ready for good walking exercise. Nice visiting often. Some kind of different vibe. Movies, bookstore, food court, department stores, bargain stores, miscellaneous and many more... Also, there is a nice printing facility inside a megastore where you can order you postcards, business cards, posters and banners. And super important great yogurt parlor... Just perfect..!
  • Good variety in stores. Enough parking levels. Nice bokstore/cafe with good Spanish titles but needs more English titles. Uncomfortable food court, badly designed, no specialty food, same fast food restaurants as everywhere else. Maps of the mall in every corner would be very useful for those of us thousands of casual visitors and tourists that don't know where anything is.
  • Great Shopping mall, hundreds of stores, ample parking and luxurious, but luxuries have it's price, you can find the same stores in a less Luxurious mall and pay less for the same stuff. Most of the parking is multilevel so you usually will find a nice spot to park inder the shade. The food court is terrific you will find a lot of places to eat but usually at higher prices than eating at the same brand located elsewhere. It has acces to every mayor highway and only a few minutes from San Juan financial center, i can guarantee you will walk a lot in this mall, Its HUGE.
  • Great mall for popular stores like Sears, Macy's and JCPenny. Has a food court with all the popular chains and some unique Puerto Rican Brands. Very popular, get here early

Where to stay in San Juan

If you're looking for colonial-era lodgings, explore the streets of the old town area, where many grand buildings house guesthouses and hotels. The neighborhoods of Condado, Ocean Park, and Isla Verde contain the majority of beach resorts, with some glamorous and upscale options sitting alongside more laid-back and family-friendly ones. Rental bungalows just back from the beach, as well as side-street hostels, provide the city's budget-friendly places to stay.
