  • We visited Plaza Del Mercado during our stay in San Juan. It was a fun evening of restaurants & music.  more »

  • Awesome place to buy fruits and veggies, great people. They also have lots of little kiosks selling meals plus other stores.
  • The best place to find good and fresh veggies. And souvenirs for friends and family. Private parking and A/C
  • my old home town. been going to the plaza de Rio Piedras since my abuela used to take me in the late 1960s. My step mother would walk from santa rita in the 1970s to get her fresh stuff there...good mix of stuff still, likely to find some local produce but nothing upscale. Lots of cheap criollo eats in the back, very very very good. Favorite of UPR professors for lunch. Cheap veggies, local coffee, fruit, couple of meat shops. one store still specializes in "security" hardware (got my retractable baton there...). Has parking in the basement. Park and walk around. Like the rest of RP....has seen better days....or more accurately, has not seen good days in a long time...but survives with some vibrancy.
  • Use to be a nice place. Now the want to sell overpriced.
  • local market with good food and produce. Needs upkeep.
