Parque de las Palomas, San Juan

4.2
#6 of 14 in Parks in San Juan
Bird lovers appreciate Parque de las Palomas, a picturesque park where a variety of pigeons are known to gather. The park attracts pigeons of all colors, shapes, and sizes, often in large groups. Unlike with some other parks, here you’re encouraged to feed the birds. You can buy some feed from one of the local vendors in the vicinity. While there, pay attention to the park’s trees--many are worth examining because of their twisted trunks and unusual shape. • Every time I visit San Juan I stop here... it is something you simply must experience (if you don’t have a fear of birds). Pay a few dollars and get some birdseed to feed them! So much fun!  more »
  • Grace is to feed the pigeons, so there are people who sell seeds, the result is obese pigeons, I think that it is not good for them

  • It was a hot day in San Juan, and the park was a nice, shady diversion from the tight streets within the old fort. I found the whole pigeon park area to be slightly gross but pretty interesting, but it is a separate area from the main park and easily avoided if too many pigeons in one small area isn't your cuppa. I thought I might get yelled at by the police for jumping up trying to grab a seed pod off a tree to inspect it, but I ended up watching a slightly overweight cop jumping for seeds when I came down empty handed. There are some lovely, cool shaded area, and a number of amazing trees; well worth a visit when wandering the old city.
  • Really fun for a few minutes, especially for little kids. Tons of pigeons. There was a nice man who gave us some corn to feed the birds, he did not ask us for any money, but we gave him a few bucks anyway. A fun little visit :)
  • Fun park for the children or anyone who like birds. At the entrance you can buy a bag of 🐦 food for $3 and feed them.
  • Lots of pigeons, lovely park, it's small. Ppl outside door sell hard corn for a dollar so you can feed pigeons. Some look diseased and sickly. Pretty views of the ocean.
  • We had a blast feeding the birds my kids love it if u aint scare of birds defenetly come check it out
