Museo de Las Americas serves as an art museum dedicated to the Native American tribes from all over the Americas. Observe exhibits detailing the different peoples from around the Americas and where they originated from and lived. A highlight is the bronze castings and statues that display prominent figures from specific tribes. Another room's exhibits display folk art of the indigenous people with several examples. A separate display room focuses on Puerto Rico (instead of the Americas as a whole) and gives a great walkthrough of the indigenous people's history. We were lucky enough to visit this art museum on their monthly free day...but would have gladly paid. Although still recovering from the hurricanes the galleries are thoughtfully laid out and very... more »

Saw my first blowgun here! One of the bartenders at our hotel recommended this museum to us. We were not interested in taking a day off from the beach, but bad weather came in and we did this as a day trip. So glad we did. I really learned about a side of PR history I would have overlooked. Worth it. Simply astonishing, truly world class.

Their reservation system does not work, and they are super unhelpful about it. Second time they "don't receive" the reservation. Taking students to a museum that may care about educating them.

Wonderful small museum with 6-7 separate galleries. A very nice variety of paintings and media used. There is a coffee shop/snack shop in the building with the museum. The museum is a short walk from the fortress. We spent about 2 hr. in the museum and enjoyed the art and cultural expression. See this museum and the fortress in a single morning; fortress first; museum second - most galleries have AC!

Great quaint museum. It was quite and we were almost the only people there. Show local artist and also historical art/ artifacts.
