Chapel of Christ the Savior (Capilla de Cristo), San Juan
(4/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Head to Chapel of Christ the Savior (Capilla de Cristo), a quaint chapel with a rich history. According to legend, the chapel was built to celebrate the miracle survival of a racer who leapt over the edge of the city wall, after he was unable to stop his horse. The exterior of the 18th-century holy building features little more than an exposed bell tower. Inside, find a shining gold and silver altar surrounded by paintings from famous Puerto Rican artist Jose Campeche, all enveloped by white walls. • A small ancient Chapel is located in the old town, next to a viewing platform. At the end of the year 1940 was even listed on the demolition, but anthropologist Ricardo Alegria strongly objected to the idea of demolishing the old colonial buildings in favor of modern constructions.

  • Saw the historical spot and came into a big load of pigeons. Someone gave me some food and all the pigeons flew on me for food in my hand. Omg it was funny. See photos.
  • At the end of the street of the Christ is this little chapel which has its origins in one story rather than curious. We invite you to discover it.
