Domes Beach, Rincon

(4.3/5 based on 190+ reviews on the web)
A surfer's hotspot, Domes Beach boasts golden sands, deep rolling waves, and shady palms. The nearby old nuclear plant with its teal domed roof gave the beach its name, and will soon be renovated into a science museum. The size of the waves here make it perfect for surfing, and indeed you will see line ups of sun kissed surfers along the cove waiting to catch the perfect wave. Bring a towel, bask in the sun's warm rays and watch the fun. At the right time of year this is also a great spot to do some whale watching. There are no facilities at the beach so bring plenty of water and sunscreen. Make Domes Beach part of your personalized Rincon itinerary using our Rincon itinerary planner.

  • surfed here early in the morning to beat the wind that whips up later in the day - called "Domes" because there is a power plant with a big white dome you can see from the beach - which is a good way ...  more »
  • My husband and I have been traveling to Rincon, Puerto Rico since 2002. We have made so many lasting friendships!!! We always look forward to returning every year!
  • One of the most consistent surf spots in Rincon area. Peaceful, tropical vibe with good people watching. There's a nice view of Domes from the lighthouse.
