  • The roads are great and well paved to the beach replete with speed bumps. One has to watch out for the wild horses along the road which is characteristic throughout the island.  more »
  • Corroborating the reviewer below me, the Refuge (therefore all its beaches) do close at 4pm as of mid-Feb, and the eastern beaches like La Chiva were closed entirely. But what is open is certainly wor...  more »
  • Currently (as of Feb 18) the refuge closes at 4pm every day. It used to be sunset, but now at 4 they will lock up the gates. Don't be caught inside after 4, you get fined. Caracas (the first beach) & ...  more »

  • Beautiful beaches with a touch of mystery. These beaches were once used by the US navy so at every possible place there is warnings of places not to go or what to do if you find munition. Seeing the aftermath of the hurricane is extremely humbling but encouraging knowing that the amazing people here are so resilient. Aside from the above, the beaches weren’t crowded at all and the beaches. Side note: We didn’t need a 4x4 to get to any of the places we explored.
  • Absolutely Gorgeous Beaches! Las Carabas is very clean and has a volleyball net to play. Most of the tourist go there. Las Chivas is gorgeous but you need a jeep to go there. Taxi's will charge $50 per person round trip to go to Chivas. Other beaches are also good for you to see. I highly recommend the visit.
  • I love visiting the Vieques National Wildlife Refuge. The beaches are some of the prettiest all over Puerto Rico.
  • As always the beaches were fenomenal, dont miss this place if you go to Vieques
  • It gets better every year. Mike and Kimberly, the Fish and Wildlife folks that run it were Hurricane heroes.
