Hike, cycle, kayak, and swim right in the thick of nature at Humacao Nature Reserve. The nature reserve features plenty of trails leading through dense vegetation, long stretches of sandy beach, picnic areas with pavilions, and historic sites, such as a sugar plantation and bunkers from wars. You can hire kayaks and bikes onsite. Kayak across the calm waters; you'll notice ducks swimming on the water and iguanas soaking in the sun by the shore. The park's many interconnected lagoons all lead to the ocean. Make Humacao Nature Reserve a part of your Punta Santiago vacation plans using our Punta Santiago trip builder.

The Nature preserve is on the grounds of Palmas del Mar. There were lots of birds, but hard to spot them due to the lush foliage. It was ok, but not terribly exciting
We spent an hour walking through the reserve and the beach. There is an old military bunker at the top of the lookout, which had great views. Very easy to understand walking directions!

The natural reserve was beautiful and the hike was fun. The paths going to the reserves were muddy but easy to walk through. There were no surprises. It is a beautiful tropical forest.
