Hiking / Camping Tour
Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve showcases seven different ecosystems--a bay, a rainforest, a dry forest, beaches, lagoons, coral reefs, and mangroves. The reserve features rare flora and is home to big iguanas, fiddler crabs, and all kinds of exotic birds. Take a walking tour of trails and boardwalks that lead through the park with bilingual guides. To get through the dry forest section, you'll need to board a tram. The reserve also offers bike and birding tours, as well as a night kayak tour, which provides a spectacle of green-glowing bioluminescent microorganisms. Visit the information center inside Puerto Rico's oldest lighthouse that's topped by a Spanish colonial tower. Climb to the observation deck for the views of the peninsula's steep, craggy cliffs. • We went on a guided tour around the park and it was really interesting! Actually very good for the price, compared to other stuff to do on the island. I really recommend it!
  • Overall, I love this place! Beach may not be the best, but the overall environment is awesome. Bird watching, kayaking, snorkeling, hiking...If you like nature, you will like this place.
  • This is one of my favorite places in all Puerto Rico. In the natural reserve, you can see different ecosystems and how they work. You get to see the bioluminicent lake and once you get inside the lighthouse, they teach you about the different animals (including the bioluminicent one). You have to make a reservation and pay but it is completly worth it. Amazing place!
  • You must book a tour to get access to the reserve. The tours are very affordable, we took a tour showing us the different ecosystems and it was just under 3 hours, very informative filled with great views and fun experiences even got to see an example of the bio luminescent organisms in a dark room.
  • Absolutely beautiful! Good tour guides and nice to see some of the nature Puerto Rico has to offer.
