Torre Britton, El Yunque National Forest

(4.8/5 based on 85 reviews on the web)
Take in the views of El Yunque rainforest from Torre Britton, which sits at an elevation of 941 m (3,088 ft). Take a short hike through the lush forest to reach the peak, where an observation tower offers panoramic views of the jungle below. On a clear day the views stretch as far as the eye can see, but cloudy weather can limit visibility. Wear appropriate footwear and take care on the sometimes slippery, though paved paths. Take a break from your hike at one of the rest stations located along the pathway. • My family and I visited El Yunque National Forest and drove up the mountain past the lower trails, waterfalls, etc. until we reached a "restricted access" area and couldn't go any higher. We turned ar...  more »
  • This access at the end of the Park is inaccessible and very steep it takes some 2 hours between go and return the problem is very tiring, at the end is a small observation tower nothing otherworldly, and the landscape is very similar to the other parts of the Park after crossing a road where there is installed a large number of satellite dishes. I do not recommend the walk through the effort and what is seen little since there are many clouds and this half abandoned Tower is small nothing otherworldly

  • The hike up to Torre de Mt Britton affords stunning views of the sea, much of northeastern P.R. and El Yunque.  more »

  • Exelente area para explorar, acampar, ir a los rios, caminar y difrutar de la vegetacion, zona turistica
  • Beautiful place to get along with nature and get a time out of the city. Love it
  • Amazing views of the eastern part of Puerto Rico. This 1930's masonry tower wad intentionally built by the Civilian Conservation Corp for the enjoyment of the vistas of El Yunque. Worth the hike uphill.
  • great side hike off the El Yunque trail with a tower that has amazing views of the coast
  • Beautiful view where we can appreciate from the freshness of that height to El Yunque.
