Torre Britton, El Yunque National Forest

Categories: Lookouts, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.8/5 based on 75+ reviews on the web
Take in the views of El Yunque rainforest from Torre Britton, which sits at an elevation of 941 m (3,088 ft). Take a short hike through the lush forest to reach the peak, where an observation tower offers panoramic views of the jungle below. On a clear day the views stretch as far as the eye can see, but cloudy weather can limit visibility. Wear appropriate footwear and take care on the sometimes slippery, though paved paths. Take a break from your hike at one of the rest stations located along the pathway. • It is a tower of stone at the point more high of the Park, where there are spectacular views... the clouds permitting. Occurs after a demanding and very steep hike

  • Although it continues to be true that the main value of this tower are the views that can be enjoyed from the anvil, in my case, I could enjoy much or most of the walk that must be given up to her. The first leg is all rising. Without be a pending very pronunciation without there are certain sections where is makes more difficult to maintain the rhythm. The first section, which goes from the trailhead until you go to a road, is the most beautiful, and also the longest. The road goes continuously inside the forest. It takes between 1 hour and 1 hour and a half to make the ascent and descent.

  • See the attached photo to see the landscape you'll see from the tower. It's a very easy hike from where we parked about a half mile up 191. You're in a rain forest to hike, why not hike here, too?
  • Exelente area para explorar, acampar, ir a los rios, caminar y difrutar de la vegetacion, zona turistica
  • Beautiful place to get along with nature and get a time out of the city. Love it
  • Amazing views of the eastern part of Puerto Rico. This 1930's masonry tower wad intentionally built by the Civilian Conservation Corp for the enjoyment of the vistas of El Yunque. Worth the hike uphill.
  • great side hike off the El Yunque trail with a tower that has amazing views of the coast
