Hiking Trail Nature / Park
One of the most popular walks in El Yunque, The Mine Trail (La Mina) leads through lush rainforest to an impressive 10 m (35 ft) waterfall. Take a refreshing dip in the cool waters at the bottom of the cascade, or sit by and watch as the water dashes over the huge boulders of the cliffs. At a length of 1.2 km (0.7 mi), the trail takes about 30 to 45 minutes in one direction; walkers of all abilities and experiences should be able to keep up. That said, do wear shoes with traction so as not to slip along slick surfaces.
