El Yunque Peak, El Yunque National Forest

(4.3/5 based on 110 reviews on the web)
Reaching 1,080 m (3,543 ft), El Yunque Peak stands as the second-tallest peak in Puerto Rico. The mountain has a variety of clearly marked hiking trails that range in difficulty from easy to more demanding. Bring waterproof shoes and raincoats to keep you covered in frequent showers. You may also want to have a bathing suit and towel on hand, in case you decide to swim in one of the designated waterfalls and ponds of this exotic paradise. The peak is nearly always covered in mist, which may block the usually mesmerizing view.
