The Culebra National Wildlife Refuge is a National Wildlife Refuge in Puerto Rico. It is part of the Caribbean Islands National Wildlife Refuge Complex, which is a unit of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. It is the site of the former Camp Roosevelt.
The wildlife refuge covers an area of 1,450 acres (5.86 square kilometers) or one quarter of the island municipality of Culebra, protecting all of its outlying islands and keys (with the exception of the privately owned Key Norte), and the wetlands and mangroves found in Ensenada Honda and southeast Culebra. • This is a cute little and the only airport in Culebra island mostly used to fly from Culebra to San Juan and Vieques. Most of the planes are 6-8 seater. Staff is friendly here and amenities are good. They have a clean toilet, drinking water and a coffee bar. Just 2 min walk from this airport is car rental shop. Also there is a big grocery store at 5 min drive.
  • Beautiful beach, definitely worth the travels to get there, you need to get to the Island by plane or ferry
  • This place is paradise. The water is warm and clear. The sand is soft. Everyone has a smile on their faces because it's so beautiful here. There's shared taxi's that take you from the ferry to Flamenco and back. It's 5 dollars each way. This is a must see and experience.
  • The ride here was a bumpy one but totally worth our time. The beach is beautiful and we got there before other boats so we really did have the beach to ourselves. There is a shallow coral reef you can snorkel. There is also an old abandoned army tank left on the far side of the beach you can go explore.
  • Just beautiful. No words can describe such beauty.
