Explore a tropical environment and hike to the top of mountains at Caribbean National Forest. Take one of the many trails to discover an abundance of plant and animal life within both the rainforest and dwarf forest. Keep your eyes peeled for the endangered coquis, a breed of indigenous tree frog. For panoramic vistas, follow the well-marked routes and climb to the top of one of the many mountain peaks or viewing towers. Pack a swimsuit and head to one of the small nearby waterfalls to cool off after your hike. Take a waterproof jacket as you can expect heavy rainfall all year round.
