Los Morrillos Light, Cabo Rojo
Categories: Lighthouses, Tourist Spots
Built in the late 19th century to help ships navigate the treacherous pass from the Southeast Caribbean to the Atlantic, Los Morrillos Light today continues to serve its original purpose as well as offer a look into history and views of the ocean. Explore the simple lighthouse, which has been automated since 1967. From the front of the lighthouse, stand above the cliffs for a 360-degree view of the Caribbean. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes to safely climb around on the cliffs. Bathrooms are available nearby. Be prepared for a hike. Bring your camera, water and sunblock. Awsome views. Be aware that there are dangerous cliffs. Beautiful beaches around.
This place is bueatiful. You have to walk to get there. This place also has very high winds. Be careful when taking pictures or with children. A sight to see.
Nothing like the little alcove playa sucia... just like having your own private beach for the day... this is a great lookout. Nearby bosque forest accomodates for hikers or nature lovers... have brought many friends here over the years.
Great views!! The lighthouse is nice, but the views from the cliffs are amazing. Be careful along the edge, as it looks like the dirt/rock could give way at any time.
It's a hike to get there. But one's you are there. The views are amazing. The winds are strong.
