(2.9/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Don't miss Arecibo Lighthouse & Historical Park, a cultural park featuring an array of activities, sights, and landmarks. When you arrive, head first to the central attraction of the park, the lighthouse. Built in 1898, the neoclassical structure sits atop a rocky headland and houses several exhibits dedicated to marine artifacts, the Spanish-American War, and the history of the lighthouse itself. From the roof, enjoy sweeping views of the ocean, and perhaps even catch a glimpse of a few whales, if you're lucky. Elsewhere in the park, inspect replicas of a pirate ship and slavery quarters, as well as an aquarium, a water park, and a small zoo. With our custom trip planner, Arecibo attractions like Arecibo Lighthouse & Historical Park can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • I went there on sunday afternoon, this is a great place for kids... so if you are a little older may find it out of taste. Sea acquarium is the best for me, walk inside the pirate cave can be funny to...  more »
  • Lighthouses in Puerto Rico are ancient and beautiful, one of them in the town of Arecibo in the islet district of Highway 655.

  • Since there was a low rate for this place, we went to the beach next to the lighthouse. You would have a nice view of the lighthouse if you go climb up the rocks toward the waves.

  • Beautiful structure, interesting history, fun for young and older young, easy to find and reasonable $$.The panoramic view of the ocean from the decks is awesome as is the rocks which support the structures.
  • I was born in Arecibo and still remember this lighthouse when I used to visit La Poza del Obispo. For many years was abandoned, and I am glad it is fixed. I moved to Chicago when I was 14 years old, and looking forward to visit it again. Thank you for putting a good effort to make this a park for everybody to visit. Like the pictures and I love you Arecibo and my people. God bless you all.
  • Not much to see for the price. $12 for an adult and an extra $3 to park in a more than empty parking area. This attraction is not really for adults, some good history and interesting information, but as a whole the theme is very child based. You can leisurely walk through in an hour "without kids" and see all there is to see.
  • I rate this a 4 star ONLY because of the beautiful lighthouse and views. I love lighthouses and therefore it was worth it to me. The other parts of the park are janky, not well maintained and even upsetting. The condition of the animals was horrible.
  • We drove an hour to see the lighthouse and enjoy the views, after paying $60 (family of 4) and walked up to the light house we were told that the lighthouse is closed. We went back to the office to get a refund and was told that they do not do refunds and we should have read the sign that stated that there is no access to the interior of the lighthouse. A second family showed up with the same complaint and after 45 minutes of demanding to speak with a manager or someone in charge a guy showed up and opened lighthouse to give us access. If you are going to see the lighthouse don't waste your time and money, nothing else on the grounds was appealing. The only good thing was meating a very nice family from Brentwood NY.
