Don't miss Arecibo Lighthouse & Historical Park, a cultural park featuring an array of activities, sights, and landmarks. When you arrive, head first to the central attraction of the park, the lighthouse. Built in 1898, the neoclassical structure sits atop a rocky headland and houses several exhibits dedicated to marine artifacts, the Spanish-American War, and the history of the lighthouse itself. From the roof, enjoy sweeping views of the ocean, and perhaps even catch a glimpse of a few whales, if you're lucky. Elsewhere in the park, inspect replicas of a pirate ship and slavery quarters, as well as an aquarium, a water park, and a small zoo. With our custom trip planner, Arecibo attractions like Arecibo Lighthouse & Historical Park can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • the park entrance is worth $ 12, plus $ 4 parking. There is a small pool on site, very saves on a hot day if you come with children. The Park well-maintained, clean, historic place!

  • It is a theme park in the history of Puerto Rico. Among its attractions are the Taíno village, replicas of the three ships of the Spanish conquest, pirate ship, the slaves barrack, pets, House jibara, a recreational area with swings, chorreras etc.

  • I was born in Arecibo and still remember this lighthouse when I used to visit La Poza del Obispo. For many years was abandoned, and I am glad it is fixed. I moved to Chicago when I was 14 years old, and looking forward to visit it again. Thank you for putting a good effort to make this a park for everybody to visit. Like the pictures and I love you Arecibo and my people. God bless you all.
  • I rate this a 4 star ONLY because of the beautiful lighthouse and views. I love lighthouses and therefore it was worth it to me. The other parts of the park are janky, not well maintained and even upsetting. The condition of the animals was horrible.
  • We drove an hour to see the lighthouse and enjoy the views, after paying $60 (family of 4) and walked up to the light house we were told that the lighthouse is closed. We went back to the office to get a refund and was told that they do not do refunds and we should have read the sign that stated that there is no access to the interior of the lighthouse. A second family showed up with the same complaint and after 45 minutes of demanding to speak with a manager or someone in charge a guy showed up and opened lighthouse to give us access. If you are going to see the lighthouse don't waste your time and money, nothing else on the grounds was appealing. The only good thing was meating a very nice family from Brentwood NY.
  • $12 per person then they want to charge you for parking on top of that for a completely empty parking lot and tons of other free parking lots. Not allowed to see the public areas of the lighthouse or allowed refund. Definitely the biggest of the ripoffs in our tourism of puerto rico yet.
  • We got there and it was raining, but after driving from Carolina we weren't going to just turn back. We were the only ones in the at the attraction (literally)...cant blame the attraction for that though. Here is my issue....its $12+ per adult and you CANNOT climb the lighthouse. Its a freaking lighthouse attraction that you can't climb to get the view from from the top. Already disappointed, let me try to learn some history about this lighthouse.....NADA. There is a cave-like structure with an acquarium and some see thru area displaying pirates, treasures, etc (very child like). However, there is nothing to suggest that there were pirates related to this lighthouse or area. Its very cheesy and seems irrelevant to the light house. In the lighthouse building itself you can only enter a small lobby area and a small room with some sea artifacts but not connected to its history (as far as I can see). There is a deck to the left of the lighthouse with a great view. I can see that area as a great venue for a wedding or bithday parties as they advertised but not as a paying attraction. SAVE YOUR MONEY and visit the rain forest
