Lighthouse Nature / Park
Don't miss Arecibo Lighthouse & Historical Park, a cultural park featuring an array of activities, sights, and landmarks. When you arrive, head first to the central attraction of the park, the lighthouse. Built in 1898, the neoclassical structure sits atop a rocky headland and houses several exhibits dedicated to marine artifacts, the Spanish-American War, and the history of the lighthouse itself. From the roof, enjoy sweeping views of the ocean, and perhaps even catch a glimpse of a few whales, if you're lucky. Elsewhere in the park, inspect replicas of a pirate ship and slavery quarters, as well as an aquarium, a water park, and a small zoo. With our custom trip planner, Arecibo attractions like Arecibo Lighthouse & Historical Park can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Came here with the family and there is nothing to do. Pirate ships were ok but one of them was closed. The Aquarium is in bad shape and there is a small zoo (if you dare to call it a zoo) in bad shape...  more »
  • This is a really nice place to check out if you're in the area. The park has a small replica of a taino indian village which is interesting to look at and read about. It also has several big wooden sh...  more »
  • I visited last month and paid $16. This place was not worth my money, the establishment is deteriorating and really dangerous. The woodwork on the ships, the painting on the statues, the smell on the ...  more »

  • Parking was $3, entrance $12 for adults and $10 for children. It was okay at best. The kids enjoyed the aquariums and the water park. The water park looks as it is poorly maintained. The views were amazing because it is right next to the water. If you want something to do for a couple of hours and don't mind spending the money then this is right for you.
  • Great place to visit. Lots to see. Family friendly. Ships, exhibitions, aquarium, live animals, lighthouse, water park, nice views. Well maintained. Friendly staff. Value. Parking was free when I went but I believe there is a charge.
  • In the up side the views of the coast from the outside of the lighthouse are great, the aquarium is cool. The spray/pool is good for kids, not really for adults. Down side, can't go up in the lighthouse, not much actual history presented about the light house, the pirate theme seems out of place, the gift shop is sparse. It does seem a bit overpriced if you don't use the slash area. They do charge for parking but I didn't mind since they had a security guard.
  • The views here are incredible. Be prepared to walk a lot. Has a beautiful aquarium, very good place to bring you children.
  • Went to see light house... Found out it is an amusement/splash park... Kids had a blast while we just chilled.
