(4.3/5 based on 1,500+ reviews on the web)
At Taylor, hear about Port wine and its history, learn what makes a good Port, and taste some sought-after vintages. The company dates back to the 17th century and is considered to be one of the largest, oldest Port houses in the world. Visit to check out the company's specialties, vintage blends and wood-aged Ports. The Late Bottle Vintage-style liquor--the most popular premium Port in Canada and England--was pioneered by the company. Visit their cellars to taste Extra Dry White, Late Bottled Vintage, and Tawny 10-year-old Ports, or ask for a premium tasting. Fully private tours can also be reserved. • Renowned place in the North of the country. Excellent restaurant, with professional service. Excellent food quality.

  • Visit Taylor's interesting with an audioguide cellars, but the price (€12) seems a bit excessive (it is much more expensive than what was announced in our guide!). The visit of the wine cellar is interesting as well as videos and pictures of the big back room. The last part (history of the family) is a little less. The visit ends with tasting of two glasses of port wine (white and red) at small tables in the Sun. A lovely time!

  • Very nice Humidor visited with audioguides: the content is complete and interesting and accessible. Boards and tables as well as the exhibits are very informative. Tasting wines of Porto in the sunny in the company of peacocks and Rooster garden completes the tour pleasantly. A test also the restaurant located in front of the cellars: a TRUE delight with amazing views of Porto

  • Very well made and informative tour with audio guide. Lots of information, exhibits and audio visual presentation. But a bit like a museum visit. Personally, I prefer a tour guide giving the explanations. The tasting included is not very generous, the cheapest white and simplest red of the house. But if you are ready to pay extra, there is the possibility to taste some truly exceptional Port Wine. Like the 1966 Colheita single harvest (24€) or the "Scion very old port", but that comes at 120€... a glass! :-) The restaurant has a very nice view on the river and the bridge from the terrace.
  • This is my favorite port house and I enjoyed my visit. But it's really oriented on that brand, too much shameless advertising. The tour repeats much of the same information and is a bit boring. Had to skip some audio stuff at the end. There is not even a price reduction when you are there on the Porto :( really sad about that. But overall it was quite nice and great staff. For sure we recommend.
  • Started with wine tasting and ended with dinner. Great sea bass and even better chocolate texture dessert. Fantastic view of the north side of Porto.
  • I opt for the Taylor Vintage 2009. It costs 8 euros per glass. The wine is sweeter than most of the wines I've tasted and a little bit strong. I simply love it, and I definitely would recommend others to have a taste here.
  • While we didn't do the tour, we were recommended to try Taylor's 10 and 20 year ports by other tourists so we nipped in but we would have stayed longer as the bar area and the grounds are, well spectacular. I would do the tour here, much more to see than other yours and the ports just as tasty.
