Graham's Port Lodge, Vila Nova de Gaia

Must see · Winery / Vineyard · Food & Drink
Wine lovers and cultural connoisseurs will appreciate the renovated museum and historical cellars at Graham's Port Lodge. Discover the art of port wine-making through a cinematic exhibition on the Douro vineyards, which was added to the site in 2012. Consider a walk through the museum housing artifacts from the company, the land, and its history. You can tour the wine cellars at the lodge, which were established in 1890 and hold 3,200 barrels, as well as a vintage collection of 19th-century bottles. Finally, you may sample the port wines for yourself at a public or private tasting. You also can take in views of Porto and dine at the Vinum Wine Bar and Restaurant. • There are a number of angles to this place but on balance well worth a visit. The facility, in totality, must be one of the most impressive greatest cellar door operations on the planet and certainly the best I have been too (& have been to 100+ in my lifetime). Patio bar offers wonderful views and the stock range at cellar door is very deep and from what I can ascertain very fair priced be it by the glass or take away bottles. The cellar tour is not aimed at wine nerds (nor it should be) so if you have a good knowledge of port you won't be blown away but there is no doubt seeing the aged bottle stocks and the cellar rooms is a bit special.
  • This tour/tasting/restaurant was amazing. The restaurant has an AMAZING view and is worth the trek in and of itself. But the tour was wonderful and we felt very worth the price as well. We really enjoyed our tour guide and felt like the Graham’s history was incredibly interesting. We were also able to taste on of their best Ports using what they call their “Vintage of the Day” for 10 euro.
  • Really good guided tour in english. Very informative of both history and process of making port wine. Ended with a tasting of 6 different types of wine. They have different tasting menus. You can also visit Grahams Port Lodge bar/terrace without a tour, and order from the menu. The view is amazing.
  • the view from the restaurant is exceptional, overlooking the harbor. a must go for romantic meal. tasting session is also informative with some photo taking session. Not for those trying to rush it through.
  • It is maybe the most far cellar of all but we had big luck there. They prepared a table for us on the backyard with river seeings. They gave us many appetizers and wine tasting. It was an amazing improvized experience. Their attention was great!
