Graham's Port Lodge, Vila Nova de Gaia

(4.7/5 based on 1,100+ reviews on the web)
Wine lovers and cultural connoisseurs will appreciate the renovated museum and historical cellars at Graham's Port Lodge. Discover the art of port wine-making through a cinematic exhibition on the Douro vineyards, which was added to the site in 2012. Consider a walk through the museum housing artifacts from the company, the land, and its history. You can tour the wine cellars at the lodge, which were established in 1890 and hold 3,200 barrels, as well as a vintage collection of 19th-century bottles. Finally, you may sample the port wines for yourself at a public or private tasting. You also can take in views of Porto and dine at the Vinum Wine Bar and Restaurant. • Visit to this Winery does not disappoint at all, the Raffael guide explains in detail the history of the family and the winery and then not put you hurry so you can enjoy the tasting of wines quietly! It is worth!

  • Honestly, we got to Grjemsa late in the afternoon, already fairly breathlessly, especially after, though, and the gently sloping, but rather long ascent from the waterfront. Immediately took tickets to tour with English-speaking guides. It turned out that there are also excursions in Russian, but my modest stock English enough to understand. The excursion lasted 30 minutes, both times the optimal time to broadly understand everything and don't have time to get bored. Well and then tasting at which guide talked about all sorts and left to enjoy. 20-year-old Graham's, of course, a demonically beautiful, exactly in a barrel with him I would have stayed. Varieties of port wine for tasting you select even if paid tour, the standard set-3 class, so if you go by-take all different sets to try more varieties (However, they intersect in tasting sets, simple Tawny would be almost every)

  • Very good tour with knowledgeable guide (Marina), who afterwards passionately introduced our port wines to us. We even got a glass of crusted port to taste after we asked a question about this. Recomm...  more »

  • Very charming and romantic terrace with a good view to the city center. Excellent tapas and wine. Expect high prices. Still highly recommend. But be prepared to not very caring service as the place is so popular - we waited like 10 minutes and nobody noticed us. And if you catch somebody they say they will send a colleage to you but nobody comes. And you wait and wait and wait. But the ambience and view outweighs all this.
  • My wife and I visited Graham's and also Taylor's. We are port lovers and although we enjoyed both lodges, we preferred the Graham's tour and tasting. We tried the premium tasting of 3 Tawny ports and enjoyed the experience. Our guide was a young lady who knew her subject well and made the tour enjoyable. Saving up,for the 1955 vintage as I was born that year !
  • A hike up the hill, but a beautiful view at the top. Good tour, very informative. Amazing company that's been around for centuries. Port was tasty. Not much of a port drinker at all but they had a good variety and tastings specifically meant for beginners. Bring a friend and try two different sets to share!
  • Beautiful view of the city with outdoor seating and excellent port wine. Try the crusted port...my favorite by far!
  • Nice tour and tasting experience. Very good selection from the symilton family port produce to buy. Offering delivery abroad
