#2 of 30 in Wineries in Northern Portugal
Wine lovers and cultural connoisseurs will appreciate the renovated museum and historical cellars at Graham's Port Lodge. Discover the art of port wine-making through a cinematic exhibition on the Douro vineyards, which was added to the site in 2012. Consider a walk through the museum housing artifacts from the company, the land, and its history. You can tour the wine cellars at the lodge, which were established in 1890 and hold 3,200 barrels, as well as a vintage collection of 19th-century bottles. Finally, you may sample the port wines for yourself at a public or private tasting. You also can take in views of Porto and dine at the Vinum Wine Bar and Restaurant. • We have booked a guided tour in Italian with the standard tasting of 3 types of port. The young escort was prepared and kind. In addition to showing us the history of the winery and wine, provided us with some tips on how to keep and taste the wine. The view from the porch is lovely. After the tour we stopped for lunch. (best to book if you want a table on the porch) Don't be scared by prices, they also have a menu for the tourists ' normal ' in €25 (appetizer first second dessert and coffee). Service was impeccable. Clean Wine excellent .... of course! WOULD ABSOLUTELY

  • You get to the top of the climb in a dream location overlooking the Douro really lovely. Guided tour and tasting prices super honest and very knowledgeable and hospitable. Also any "tastes" to accompany the wines are priced accordingly. Everything at the top as well as the quality of their wine. Not to be missed ...

  • Superb very didactic tour with as guide a one young passionate and exciting. Tasting of quality. I recommend the premium, selected wines are still best.

  • Excellent. Arguably the best port house in Porto. The restaurant, Virnum, has stunning views across the Douro, the food is excellent and the service impeccable. The large Port cart at the end of your meal has a comprehensive selection. The tour was also good, it was informative, without being too long. There are many options for Port tastings, across all budgets. Our guide was excellent, and you left feeling like you had a good grasp of how port was made, and which one suited you best in terms of taste. Highly recommended.
  • Pros: Further away and up the hill so less crowded. Beautiful cellars, well-designed mini museum, and lovely terrace views. Mehs: Tour was decent, but not really that informative--too much self-promotion. Advance booking required. Tour and tastings start at 12€ for a ruby, LBV and tawny. Expect to pay over 50€ each if you want to taste vintage port. Food pairing not worth it. 10€ for a sad, little cheese plate. Also, skip the wine shop. Prices in town are cheaper.
  • Amazing tour followed by an amazing tasting! Then we sat on the patio and over looked the Duro river back towards Porto and had delicious cheese and Iberico ham and more port. Highly recommend visiting Enjoy
  • It is one of the furthest wineries and it requires to walk a bit since it is uphill but is totally worth it. The tour was informative and the tasting on the terrace was really enjoyable. Great views and nice atmosphere!
  • Dont bother. Very institutional. Perfunctory. Much preferred others such as Churchill or Taylors.
