Ferreira, Vila Nova de Gaia

(3.9/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
Sample and learn about one of Portugal's most famous traditional products at Ferreira, a wine-making estate specializing in port. Founded in 1751, the company boasts a long pedigree in the important regional industry. Take a cellar tour, which gives you background information on the growing and production processes. You'll see the storage facilities where the wine is aged. Afterward, you can taste of several different port varieties, depending on the specific tour, and maybe even get a glimpse of the site's 19th-century tasting room. Be sure to book online ahead of time, especially if you'd like to arrange a private group tour. To visit Ferreira on your trip to Vila Nova de Gaia, use our Vila Nova de Gaia travel itinerary maker.

  • The visit of us made short and insufficient, despite the sympathy and kindness of the Guide. The little difference, you choose the tasting premium is a success.

  • To start we saw in several places that it was worth €6 and we arrived there and they were €10, wineries teach you to run without a guide, almost no time to stand in the stays to admire the beauty of wood and the old building tanks.

  • Place where you can learn all about the history of port wine besides at the end has a small tasting of types that exist of port

  • I went there today and the tour was ok. But I bought some wines and now I just saw in the supermarket the prices for the same wines are 35% cheaper than at Ferreira! I feel like a tourist trap and will never more buy any wine from them. If you go don't buy any wine! Just go for the tour.
