Sample and learn about one of Portugal's most famous traditional products at Ferreira, a wine-making estate specializing in port. Founded in 1751, the company boasts a long pedigree in the important regional industry. Take a cellar tour, which gives you background information on the growing and production processes. You'll see the storage facilities where the wine is aged. Afterward, you can taste of several different port varieties, depending on the specific tour, and maybe even get a glimpse of the site's 19th-century tasting room. • Absolutely loved the tour of the Ferreira porthouse. It has a lovely history about it's founder and the process of making Port wine. It costs €10 for the tour + 2 samples of wine. There is one you can do to sample 5 wines which costs around €20 which usually starts around 3pm. You can book in advance or book when you get there.
  • Great tour, we decided to taste their vintage and aged wines, the portions were quite generous, the explanation was quite detailed. We had a great time.
  • Nice visit and tasting. However, what a surprise : the Ferreira port wines are noticeably cheaper at the airport shop than at the property (about 10% cheaper, travel within EU) . That doesn't feel so right given that the visit is charged 10 euros.
  • Very informative tour. Excellent tour guide. Very good port
  • One of the best place to try port wine.
