Cortes de Cima, Vidigueira

Categories: Food & Drink
Inspirock Rating:
5/5 based on 15+ reviews on the web
Since the 80's, Cortes de Cima estate has been home to Hans and Carrie Jorgensen, a Danish/American couple who sailed the world in a small boat, to find a place to start a vineyard. Today, it is a showcase property, with oak and olive trees, wheat fields, 150 hectare of vineyards, and not least of all, a modern winery, where the Jorgensens craft their cult wines. Among these are Incógnito, because it was - and still is - made with illegal Syrah grapes. Incógnito won acclaim and medals from wine critics everywhere, so now, Syrah is authorized to be grown in the Alentejo.

  • It wasn't just a tasting, but a trip back in time with the excellent explanation of the José about the history of Cortes de Cima. We tasted the wines listening carefully the details of the production and history of each wine in a simple environment and Rico at the same time (but Rico for beauty and growing family). Highly recommend this visit!
