  • The best fortified structures that our country has to visit. Great place to contemplate the view over the city of Tomar, in particular your old part. Interesting also the visit to the gardens and green spaces.

  • When I thought I'd visit a medieval city in Portugal, only had in mind the well-known Évora, it really is beautiful. But, this time I have recommended a city that did not know: Take. And have not regretted it. The castle of Tomar, to the birthplace of the legendary Knights Templar is a must. Have others but, as I was only passing through, I could only meet this castle. For sure, I will return to see the rest. Is very worthwhile!

  • Original 12th century seat of the Knights Templars, this is worth the trek up the hill to visit. My teenage son tells me it's in one of the Assassins Creed games if that helps convince :-) Fantastic architecture that's been added to over the years and even an English audio guide.
  • Local lindo, história contagiante.
  • A splendid Castle/Abbey Templar history. Very well preserved and well valued. Truly remarkable.
