From Funchal we go to São Vicente in the North Coast, known by its vineyards, volcanic caves and Madeira table wine production. Then we visit Seixal´s lava pools, where we can see one of the most famous waterfall that by resembling a bride ́s veil got its name Véu da Noiva . Afterwards, we stop at the natural volcanic pools in Porto Moniz, one of the most visited places in Madeira, having the opportunity to swim in crystalline waters and enjoy the beautiful scenery. After, we go uphill to Fanal, a place of rare beauty in the middle of the Laurissilva Forest, which is one of the 7th Natural Wonders of Portugal, with centenary trees. Continuing to Paúl da Serra, the biggest plateau of the island at nearly 1500 mts high with stunning views, we will have a lunch break (not included) in a typical Madeiran restaurant. To finish our tour, we drive to Cabo Girão, the highest Sea Cliff in Europe and the second in the World with 589 mts., better known for its suspended glass floor Viewpoint.

The capital of the island of Madeira for more than 500 years, Funchal represents a laid-back city made popular by its historical sites and climate. Named for its plethora of fennel, this city incorporates restaurants, museums, cathedrals, gardens, and a large market. Though it may be most well known as the birthplace of famed soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, this city's wealth came from Madeiran sugar. Tourists enjoy local crafts and wines, chatting with friendly islanders, and the ease with which they can navigate the city on foot or via taxi. Find what you're looking for from your Funchal holiday, by planning the whole thing with us using our handy Portugal trip website.
