Tavira Island, Tavira

(4.5/5 based on 1,400+ reviews on the web)
Vast stretches of white and golden sands, classical South Iberian and Moorish houses, and a wide range of traditional taverns make Tavira Island an idyllic way to experience the many colors of Portugal. Accessible by ferry or water taxi, the 11 km (6.8 mi) long island shelters exotic flora and curious birds, including the seasonal flamingo. You can walk for hours through its dunes and marshes. Stake out a place at one of the campsites, go swimming and soak in some sun, or have a stroll through the island's charming narrow streets. You can stop for a bite at a traditional restaurant. • Who like to quietly sits on the sea is right here. Since we were in the off season there, we were almost alone on the beach. However, even the beach booths were closed. Logically, in the November.Der ferry service timetable should be not too well done, who missed the ferry and can whistle on the fingers, which is helped.

  • We travelled out by boat from Quatra Agua to find out if the publicity about the island was true. We can confirm it is and is in fact a magic place
  • Very beautiful island, fine sand, great place to spend an afternoon. The crossing can be made by public transport at prices much more accessible or boat taxi. There is several times to go and to return.
