    Fantastic beach which can be accessed via ferry from Saint Lucia (journey of 10 - 15 minutes). It is a very quiet beach, without many people, finite white sand and very clean water. It has area with umbrellas to rent - although I can't say much worth-. As advice, no wait for the last ferry to return because enough hassle people.

    It was the beach that we liked from Tavira. Fewer people than in the rest. There are no restaurants (only a small bar). Is puwden rent umbrellas with two hammocks for 20€ / day (€ 15 from 14 h). If is v in the evening and you want to hammock must reserve it before.

    Excellent beach and relatively easy access, via boat from Santa Luzia. However lacks of support structures.

Check yourself into a family-run bed and breakfast or small-time hotel as an affordable option with a quiet atmosphere among the city's array of whitewashed homes. Stay in a guesthouse or private apartment tucked into the residential neighborhoods along the banks of the Gilao River for a great view over the waterway and across to the other side's historical waterfront buildings. Alternatively, you can opt to pay a little more to stay in one of the more upscale hotels located in the residential neighborhoods north of the freeway; these require transportation into town but feature pools, restaurants, and plenty of amenities.
