  • My husband and I booked a ride with these guys whilst we were on honeymoon. It was only myself, my Husband and our guide. The ride was beautiful, I rode Venus and my husband rode Apollo. Not only was ...  more »

  • My daughter taught riding, so on vacation we also tried to find a place where you can ride horses. On Madeira we found this wonderful place. Since I wanted to accompany the child while riding experience I have almost gone, then we have chosen the simplest outing at 1.5 hours. The route passes through the forest, periodically offer beautiful views over San Lorenzo, Porto Santo, Mashiko. The youngest child at this time practiced on a horse on the ranch. Paula while walking made photos and videos, who kindly sent us. Thanks for the nice day.

  • I had a truly amazing experience riding with Quinta do Riacho. The horses were well behaving, beautiful and very well trained. You could see that the well being of the horses was a priority for the owners, which was also an important factor for me. The owner couple was so sweet and very caring, picked me up from my hotel and also drove me back there after, during the ride checking many times if everything was OK, telling our riding group of the nature in the Levada and about their animals, taking us to great scenery spots to take photos and even send us via Facebook photos that they took of us while we rode! I highly recommend Quinta do Riacho for everybody who want to experience Madeira's nature in an unique way - why walk a Levada, when you can RIDE :)
  • Quinta do Riacho offer a wonderful way to see the fantastic scenery of Madeira. I have ridden 3 times with Paulo and Paula and every ride has been different, interesting and most importantly great fun! They offer a great service, being able to pick riders up (and return) from their accommodation which saves the expense and hassle of taxies. The horses are beautifully looked after, which is so important. I'm really hoping to return again next year. :)
  • A great place to visit, Paulo and Paula are amazing people truly care for their costumers. From picking us up at the hotel and letting us off at the hotel, the conversation while enjoying the nature with all the horses and dogs. They send you the pictures they have of you via whatsapp, which for me personally is amazing. I can't wait to go back there and have another ride with great people and see again that great view. All the best :)
  • To recommend: horses & landscape. To avoid: human factor. We booked two rides with Paula & Paulo, out of which one took place. During our "Forest Trail", we broke into a trot once, the same for a canter. The rest of the trail through the woods of north-eastern Madeira was relaxing and we could enjoy the nature, the fresh air, as well as the chilling temperature. Btw., just as described in the previous Google review, at the slow pace, the guide spent a lot of time on his mobile phone. What we found truly disappointing, was the way our 2nd ride was cancelled: barely 1 hour before, we simply received a WhatsApp message saying it was too hot and the horses were tired. Our question if the day after could be an alternative remained without answer until today. One would not expect from people who care so much about horses and pets to care so little about customers.
  • Paula and Paulo are very friendly. The quinta do riacho is an amazingly place which such character that I've never seen in Madeira island! The horses where all very gentle and calm so I felt super confident! I went for a 1 hour hack up in the hills where there were outstanding views and also opportunities to have trots and canters! The price is low bearing in mind the extraordinary experienced. I strongly recommend!
