  • This museum is located in the space of an old mill, near the plaza of the municipality of Ribeira Brava. It is a space that shows several rooms elements and tools specific to the activities of daily life on the island of Madeira. Displays toys, fishing tools, implements of agriculture, textile tools, Wicker cestos-trineo, trucks, kitchen utensils and things as well. It is very well organized and is a visit that is not heavy and that puts us against the way of life that was until tourism came to the island, which is not different from how he lived in more remote areas. It is a highly recommended visit, carrying little more than one hour to see everything in detail. The Museum staff was especially friendly and sometimes explained the functioning of the parts which are exposed there, since they lack posters that explain how exactly used to us.

  • Very interesting: bathrooms on fishing, weaving, the life of the Madeirans, their interior. Very nice throughout the visit, there is always someone to give us details.

  • An interesting ethnographic museum, situated next to Funchal in the town of Ribeira Brava, travel easily in a normal bus. Talks about life, life and history of the island and its people in times past. Household items, clothing, tools, furniture, peasant traditions, dances, all the exhibits, photographs and simple descriptions in English. That collected all in one place-great and much, seen individually on the island here gets his explanation and becomes clear. I really liked it. I advise everyone to go
