Praia Da Rocha, Praia da Rocha

(4.3/5 based on 3,000+ reviews on the web)
A favorite of beachgoers in Algarve, Praia Da Rocha is named for the beautiful cliffs and rocks near its shoreline. Though the sandy shores are ideal for playing with kids, taking long walks, or lounging in the sun, the area is called Rock Beach because of the cliffs. The blue waters have made this a favorite getaway for people from Portimao and beyond since the late 1800s. You'll have your pick of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, and clubs along Tomás Cabreira, an avenue across the top of the beach. You can also visit the Fortress of Santa Catarina de Ribamar for views of the coast and marina. • One of the most beautiful beaches I've seen! Algarve is a great area to spend time , the summer peak season is crowded, but off season still warm and comfortable.
  • Very nice beach! You have a parasol area and a non-parasol area. Very clean beach with amazingly clear waters. Lots of restaurants near the water. You can go exploring for a bit, since there are a lot of caves nearby (careful though, since it's eroded rock). Lots of space to play some sports (football, tennis (small ball) and volleyball etc.)
  • Very nice and broad beach. 10€ for 2 beds and an umbrella
  • Probably the most famous beach in Algarve... Great fantastic water.
  • Beautiful Beach with Amazing Rocks.
