Civic Center · Architectural Building
Tour Palacio da Bolsa, a 19th-century stock-market palace, and walk through the lavish rooms of the assembly and tribunal. Built by the Commercial Association in 1850, the building was improved upon and decorated until 1910. See the courtyard room, filled with arched doorways and covered by a large octagonal metallic and glass dome. You can explore quaint chambers that host allegorical paintings, rustic furniture, sculptures, and antique objects. Visit the most lavish room at the site, the Moorish Revival-styled reception hall, which once welcomed important personalities and leaders. • A must see in your sightseeing and visiting. It's a guided tour, and a good one, with several historical details regarding construction, politics and fun facts. The ballroom is gorgeous, and the now empty trade floor is amazing.
  • A palace honoring commerce that must be visited on a guided tour. Built on the site of a former church building the structure shows off the best of the fine arts and crafts of the past. The unique Moorish style ballroom is astounding. Granite stairs lead to magnificent rooms upstairs with a view of the tiled entrance. Nice toilets available for visitors and a gift shop.
  • Terrible customer service. Woman at the front desk/ticket desk did put me off so badly we have decided not to get tickets in the end. She was incredibly rude and not helpful at all. She couldn’t even crack a smile... Management should take a serious look into customer service skills of their staff.
  • The palace is a lovely place, but all tourist services are in complete mess. You can order ticket on line, but you do not know which time slot you’re assigned too. If it is not suites you - it’s too late to change, you’ve been already charged. There is an option to pay 30€ fees for non-guided access listed on the wall behind the cash-desk, but you are not allowed to use it without clear explanation why. Be relaxed and enjoy it in a way the palace keepers understand the “enjoyment”. :)
  • Time lag So we're in Porto for a long weekend. But there's nothing open on Mondays (when will Europe learn that there are job opportunities on Mondays?) This beautiful building was open ,but a tour meant waiting an hour. I had wanted the information and experience. Wouldn't an audio guide have been a way of getting my admission ticket money? Very disappointed not to have been able to spend money and learned about this building and other parts of city.
