A visit to the past of this indispensable conveyance of this city. Old machines for the positions of orders through the electric generators, everything is there. Comes to reopen (summer 2017) for a friendly and user-friendly presentation.

The Museum is very good. Yes, he paid-took family ticket. Really enjoyed that all in the Museum you can touch, you can climb the trams, some models of trams, buses, cars, you can sit behind the wheel, leave the memory of excellent photos. Bought at the entrance guide in Russian that describes the history of each exhibit-conducted a mini tour. Probably not the most popular Museum, because nobody except us in m uzee was not in 12:00 days. There is a tram stop next door, where you can go or to the ocean, or to the side of the old town on the historic tram.

The Museum of the Electric Tram (Electrico Wagon) offers a range of electric cars that represent the history of this means of transport in the city of Porto, from its origins to modern times. Available to the public there are twenty cars, all nicely refurbished. On some of these you can also climb; on a large monitor is installed which gives the impression of leading the trams through the streets of Porto! Nice idea especially if you visit the Museum with children! The other part of the Museum, much less engaging, presents the old power plant used to power the tram lines ... a piece of history, surely, but too particular. Not too cheap admission price. The presentation of a tram ticket (from 3.00 euro) entitles you to a discount of 30%, for example, cannot be combined with discount family.

  • If this is what you like then go for it. The location is serviced by two trams and there's also a bus stop out front. Nice riverside location. (If you go there have a look at the helicopters providing tours from just outside).
  • Place for maniacs of public transport... Interesting examples of trams evolution. Worth to go... If you don't have enough time those photos will be enough :)
  • Best museum of my life. You can be in the place of the tram driver. Look like a drem awake
  • Over 100 years of trollies...Now we are going back to this great idea.
  • Remote location but nicely arranged. Kids were happy to fool around

Where to stay in Porto

Portugal's second city offers a healthy variety and quantity of accessible accommodations. The historical city center on the northern bank of the River Douro teems with hotel options, ranging from budget-friendly hostels and guesthouses, which often have shared rooms, to upscale, luxury hotels housed in larger buildings and packed with amenities. All of these options place you conveniently close to the town's main sights, including churches, historical squares, and more. On top of that, many hotels on the northern bank boast good views from their hilltop vantage points. If you want to save big on cost, it's worth considering a more low-key hostel or small hotel on the less-popular southern bank.
