  • A museum very well designed, with rooms to give an idea of the cannery industry. An interesting to watch in the auditorium empty. Very friendly staff.

  • Originally a fabrik where sardines were canned. You get an overview of faded industry and shipping. Very worth it. afterwards, enjoy environment.

  • It was a very rainy day and decided to go here. We were here on a Saturday around 11 o'clock in the morning. It turned out to be free! Friendly staff who explained that this every Saturday from 10-14 hours, normally it is 3 euros. But that, too, is more than worth it. In a fun and active way, the sardine factory explained and the history of Portimao. There are also several exhibitions regularly. A must on a rainy day! We have certainly walked around 2.5 hours.

  • Great to hear and see on film the history of the sardine industry. Archive films are terrific . You get a real feel of how it must have been. Free entry on Saturdays !!!!
  • This is a Fantastic Must See Museum, I have been a few times, they even have a mini cinema where you can watch a film about the history of the Portuguese fishing sardine industry, each time I go I listen to the film in a different language to make it more interesting.
  • Very good place to learn about the history of the algarve
  • Good to learn something about the history of fishing and sardines in this area.
