Discover the quaint, medieval Obidos Village, which is encircled by castle walls. This romantic village is nicknamed the Wedding Present Town because it was a gift from King Dinis to his new wife in 1282. The entire village is a National Monument and is known as an extremely well-preserved example of medieval architecture. Stroll among its charming squares, cobblestone streets, and colorful homes. Visit the town museum, Santa Maria church, Misericordia church, and Amoreira aqueduct. • Worth spending an afternoon in Óbidos. Its streets and alleyways bring tranquility and fill the eyes of those who like to buy souvenirs! EXPERIENCE THE GINJA IS MANDATORY! Charge 1 euro and I suggest looking for places in which put the fruit itself within the little cups of chocolate. The walk to the castle is very quiet and pleases everyone. Wheelchair users and children in stroller will have difficulty of locomotion by the irregularity of the ground.

  • You can imagine how this life in the middle ages has been unfolding. Today you can see what make tourism so all good. If the visitors would not buy it, it would no longer be on offer. Because I dream rather of the middle ages. The "old" bakery is worth seeing, left hand.

  • Within the walls of Óbidos found the traditional trade with products of the region. Is unmissable traditional ginja, for example. A walk along the city walls will also provide the opportunity to enjoy the landscape.

  • Spectacular castle! And the town is even more spectacular. I am so glad our local friend took us to Obidos!!!
  • Great Castle surrounded by long fortress. The best way to explore this place is to take a walk through edges of these walls.
  • The castle is fun - make sure you check out the summer festival - well worth the visit. Free internet for tourist if needed - a quick signup procedure - and no spam following you around after - so safe to use. Know your prices some items are a good deal.
  • Amazing castle in a lovely town, functions now as a hotel and a restaurant. The restaurant is a bit pricey but the food and the service is adequate to that. You can walk all around the castle wall. Wander around the town, its streets and buildings are truly picturesque.
  • What a beautiful and charming little town. A great place to spend an afternoon wondering about. Special place.
