  • The visit to the Largo do Carmo is a must for anyone who wants to know more of the city. Stay right next to Plaza Luis de Camões, to coffee the Brazilian, where is the statue of Fernando Pessoa, surrounded by good restaurants, cafes and opposite the Convento do Carmo. To get here quickly is just coming up with the Santa Justa Elevator, but walk up is much more fun and not lose anything of this glorious capital. Is always full of tourists filling the bars and restaurants, eating the famous Portuguese dishes, drinking wine, Sagres beer or simply enjoying.

  • San Pedro de Alcantara Observatory from go to the viewing platform of the Santa Justa. Walking down the Hill, a little rain and San Roque church, rely on the map to go road eastward to the left a little and the square, had spread the terrace café. Still unable to Santa Justa elevator somewhere on the clerk went on to ask. In the square is a fountain.

  • Nice Place to Drink a beer
  • Largo do Carmo, will be forever linked to the 25 April revolution in 1974, when Salazar's dictatorship fell in Portugal, because that's where the military headquarters where the revolution began. But this off also have some of the most emblematic monuments of the city of Lisbon, the convento do Carmo, who fell a large part in the famous earthquake of 1755, which razed much of the city. Are some ruins worthy of being seen, and where you can also get a good view of the downtown area

  • A small square where you can enjoy a coffee or sangria, or beer ... There are public toilets and maybe hence the pervasive smell of urine. We came here twice and twice it was the same ... Daunting ...

  • The square is super nice. The your environment seems to be full of tourists, looks like a place where the locals hang out.

Where to stay in Lisbon

Check into one of Lisbon's grand city center hotels to position yourself well to explore the central historical districts on foot. To avoid the potentially high prices of some of the Old Town's central upscale hotels, try staying in a hostel instead. While some hostels have an upper age limit for their guests, they're affordable and oftentimes offer access to attractions on par with or better than bigger hotels. In the upper town, opt for one of the family-run bed and breakfasts, which provide affordable rooms and, as the name would suggest, include a meal as well.
